Their performances are intimate, joyful, and strikingly cohesive—music that feels both rooted and refreshingly new.

Their songs invite everyone to join in, celebrating family, connection, and the joy of singing together.

THE MAMMALS

The Mammals, an Americana quintet led by songwriters Mike and Ruthy, are the driving force behind the Hoot festivals. With the captivating support of Will Bryant on keys, Brandon Morrison on bass, and Tim Morrison on drums, their performance promises to fill the room with soulful harmonies, down-home fiddle, and poignant lyrics that navigate the delicate balance between subversive and traditionalist. As noted by No Depression, they embody “…the defiant spirit needed to heal a damaged world.”

9:00 pm
SQUARE DANCE

Buvas are a spirited old-time string band from New York State, keeping traditional fiddle music alive while championing the joy and playfulness at its heart. With Jed Greenberg (fiddle), Ben Cooper (guitar), Mike Fleck (banjo), and Ben Gould (bass), their sound is both vintage and freshly inventive. Expect them to light up the floor with post-modern fiddle tunes perfect for a lively square dance with Megan Downes calling. No partner or prior experience necessary. Circle left, y’all! It’s time to cut loose!

JAMES FELICE

James Felice (founding member of The Felice Brothers) brings his trembling, unmistakable voice and rollicking accordion/piano magic to the Winter Hoot stage. His new solo work, The Little Ones, is an intimate, late-night world of wry heartache, tender humor, and beautifully crafted songs.
